Fatana Isaac

Fatana Ishaq Gailani Fatana Ishaq Gailaini is president and founder of the Afghan Women's Council (AWC), created in mid-1993, and lives in a refugee camp in Pakistan. Received death threats from the Taliban, which resulted in 1999 Amnesty International launched an urgent bulletin to protect it. The Afghan Women's Council is composed of teachers, university professors and doctors. Its aim is to provide educational and health care to children and women in Afghan refugee areas and to educate women on the topic of women's rights within the cultural and religious traditions of Afghanistan.
